Another successful NZPCN conference

Thank you to all our delegates who made the trip to Hokitika last week to attend and support the biennial NZPCN conference and the John Child Bryophyte Workshops.

Nearly 100 Network members gathered together to enjoy a host of informative speakers, several well run workshops, interesting field trips and a combined exhibition dedicated to botanical artwork.

I would like to thank once again Dr Alex Fergus for his attentive work as conference organiser and all our speakers, workshop facilitators and field trip leaders who helped create a great conference.

Thank you to Te Rūnanga Ngāti Waewae and Makaawhio for welcoming and hosting us in beautiful Hokitika. The local community were very hospitable, with some healthy discussions around what it means to be a ‘greenie’ held throughout the streets, cafes and pubs of Hokitika.

Final thanks goes to our conference sponsors:

-              Coastlands Nursery Ltd,

-              Otari-Wilton’s Bush Trust,

-              Wildlands Consultants,

-              Botanic Gardens of Australia and New Zealand,

-              West Coast Treetops and Canopy Walkway.

Along with Network membership, support from our sponsors is critical to the ongoing development and maintenance of the Networks activities. Please support our sponsors as you are able to.

We look forward to welcoming you all to Wellington, the proposed venue of our next Conference, in 2019.
